Audited and approved facilities
We are audited by the FSA and you are welcome to come and visit us anytime to see firsthand just how much we care about quality and hygiene. We, as a company, believe in keeping as much business on the Island as possible.
This could have proved difficult as the only abattoir on the Island closed over 20 years ago, undeterred, we worked closely with the local farming community to find an abattoir where the animals could go direct from the farms, to the abattoir and back to our cutting plant.
Our high standards mean we are proud suppliers to both the Isle of Wight’s county schools as well as St. Mary’s Hospital. We have also supplied meat to Food and Drink at Wimbledon for the last couple of years.
Locally sourced meat
Prime cuts of meat are 21-day age matured, which in return ensures tenderness and flavour. There is no premium charge for this, we are able to keep our prices competitive by paying market value which is governed by “Farmer’s Weekly”.
We are one of the main suppliers of locally sourced meat for the Isle of Wight, and we feel that with people becoming more aware of ‘food miles’ these days, our traceability is second to none, as we operate a comprehensive and stringent ‘batch coding’ system.
We buy directly from the farmers where possible, with the rest being sourced from other trusted UK suppliers who we have built a strong relationship with over many years.
